Stop paying for two phone systems

You pay for an office phone system, then pay again for company cell phones. thinkVoIP handles both.

The two-system trap

Most companies with mobile employees pay twice: an office phone system, plus a separate cell plan and device for everyone who works outside the office. Two vendors, two bills, two sets of problems.

A cloud phone system with a mobile app puts your business number on your employee's personal phone. Same calling, same voicemail, same call recording — no company cell phone required. You pay a small stipend instead of a phone bill.

What changes for your team

Everything your team had with company cell phones — plus a few things they didn't.

Office number on their phone

Employees make and receive calls from your office number on their personal phone. Callers see the office number, not their personal one.

Personal number stays private

The app keeps business and personal calls separate. No client will ever see or call their personal number.

Voicemail goes to their inbox

Missed calls land in their email as transcripts they can read at a glance. The audio file is there if they need it.

Call recording still works

Calls through the app are routed through your phone system. Recording, compliance, and call routing rules all apply.

Works on iOS and Android

The app works on any modern smartphone. Employees download it, log in, and they're ready to make calls.

Make calls from any browser

For employees at a computer, there's a browser-based softphone — no app to install, no IT tickets to file.

I had a last minute change needed to our phone system prior to our business opening that I had forgotten to let Think Technologies know about. I called their emergency number and they got me in touch with one of their on-call techs who went above and beyond taking care of my request. I am extremely pleased with this company's responsiveness to my issue.

Common questions

Will employees push back on using their personal phones?
Most employees prefer carrying one phone instead of two. The stipend covers business use of their personal device, and their personal number stays private — callers only see the business number. We've rolled this out with multiple companies and most employees prefer it once they try it.
What about call recording and compliance?
Call recording works on the mobile app just like a desk phone. Calls through the app are routed through your phone system, so your recording policies, call routing rules, and compliance settings all apply. Some states require two-party consent for call recording. Work with your attorney to make sure your recording practices are compliant.
Is the stipend taxable?
Cell phone stipends are common, and many employers treat them as taxable compensation to keep things simple. The tax treatment can depend on how the stipend is structured. Check with your accountant to confirm what applies to your situation.
What if someone doesn't have a smartphone?
This isn't an all-or-nothing decision. Employees without smartphones can use a browser-based softphone on any computer — no app required. You can also deploy desk phones where they make sense and use the mobile app for the rest of the team. We help you figure out the right mix.
